I'm with Pete, people who ask nicely and respectfully will always get the same from me.

As for 13s being slow... My Mustang stock was in the 14s. It didn't take long to fix that but keep that in prespective. Way back in the "heyday" of the 60's all the "supercars" were lucky to get much into the 13s and a 12second daily driver would be a rare find indeed. 13s is nothing to sneeze at and it wasn't until fairly recently that it was pretty hard to achieve and stay streetable. That's not a bad number and you'll probably give quite a few challengers a surprise. 12s however would be even more fun icon_biggrin.gif

13 seconds is not slow for a street car! Like Im sure you've noticed, there isn't much that can keep up with you on the streets, and barring a McLaren F1, those that can take you in the straights won't be able to keep up with you in the turns!

Scotty,

do not get caught up in comparing how your car runs with others on this forum. Focus on maximizing what you have and can afford. If I were you, I would not run anymore boost but instead focus on fixing that lean condition and finding a pair of DRs. You can improve the ET w/o trying to squeeze more boost out of it.

Scottie-GNZ has some great advice there.

Just some general thoughts from one of the old guys who's been around the "I gotta go faster" thing a few times:

The level of performance that even hopped up street cars have these days makes the 60's muscle cars (stock) look slow. 12 seconds on the street is plenty to get in trouble with and alot of fun.

There's always someone faster - and faster is a bar that's raised constantly these days, in leaps and bounds.

Also, going faster is expensive AND generally more maintenance intensive - to include replacing broken parts!

But the desire for more speed, lower E.T. is an endless thing, until you convince yourself that "more" is more trouble and expense than is reasonable for you.

Sorry to ramble - but I see myself and others get caught up in this never ending quest to be faster/quicker all the time. I try to avoid it, but it keeps coming back icon_wink.gif. Maybe therapy is in order for me - NAH! icon_rolleyes.gif

Both Gents make excellent points. I'm not a turbo expert in any way shape or form, but common sense dictates that if you get carried away with the boost on a stock motor it will eventually push it past its limits. I'm not sure what that is on a L-motor, but know it would be expensive to find out (unless you have a bunch of motors lined up to experiment with.. icon_smile.gif ). And as Scottie wisely said, tuning it and hooking it up and I'll bet its got alot of ET in it just doing that alone.

As Pete alluded to, going faster rises the potential for breakage or at least reduces longetivity of the motor at minimum. Theres a reason some of those cars are trailered to and FROM events.. icon_wink.gif Personally I think your doing excellent and I'd be proud to be making that kind of HP from your setup. Good job.

Respectfully,

Lone

Ps: Speed is two drugs, one of them is cheap, stupid and illegal, the other is expensive and sometimes illegal.. icon_wink.gif
