Guest Anonymous
i know this is way diserable compared to the stock cast manifold, but what makes this such a big HP gain? i dont understand physics behind it. thanks.
240Z Turbo
From everything I have heard, this alone will add around 40hp@wheels on big boosted setups. You have to remember that with the stock cast manifold you have cylinders 1-4 flowing through 1 small opening to get to the turbo. Not a very efficient design. It is the same concept as adding headers to an N/A motor. You free up restrictions in the exhaust which allows you to make further adjustments to take advantage of cam timing. The equal length helps to seperate the exhaust pulses so that they hit the turbine wheel 1 after another in a sequence. It basically boils down to a freeflowing exhaust and because turbo cars are forced induction you need more exhaust flow to compensate for the increased flow into the motor.
