Turbo oil pan, Can it fit??

It will fit in a 240Z, because I had one in there. DO you have power steering? i would think that would be the only hold-up.

I know my 83 did not like the earlier model oil pan, and I ended up having to replace it after the engine was assembled.

WOW!! that was lightning fast!! Thanks No I do not have P/S. What problems did you have w/ the 83 pan. How can I tell if it is a 83 or 81-82.

Thanks Mark

I don't know if you can tell by looking or not. I have never really paid any attention to tell you the truth. I dropped a whole turbo engine in my 240, and it fit just fine.

I did not have to make any modifications. I think the main difference is the deep part of the pan. I know when I tried to use an early model pan in my ZX, it would not clear the crossmember/streering rack. I had contact there. I would think you would be fine with what you have. Drop it on in just like it was the pan that came on the engine.

Good luck.

You should have no problem with clearance. If you want use the pan you have and put a drain hole on the side of it for the oil return. I had to do this when turbo charging my L24, since the L28ET pan does not swap on to the L24 block easily.

You will have to use the iol pickup from a turbo motor to use the turbo pan on a n/a block. The baffles in the sump are slightly different between the 2. I found this out the hard way laying on my back under the car wondering why the damn pan wouldn't fit  Once I swapped pickups the pan went on no problem.
