Welcome to the forum! icon_smile.gif

As they say, "Speed costs money, so how fast do you want to go?"

$500-$10000 would be a good guess. Please buy the JTR manual that covers this kind of swap. Here is the link for them:

Your initial question is too broad to answer specifically; it's like asking "how much does a house cost?" or something like that. There is a current link going on right now asking guys how much they have spent on their conversions. The ranges are amazing--few dollars to BIG BUCKS! If you can budget $5000 to do a cheap swap and buy the JTR book, then I think you are in pretty good shape. icon_wink.gif

Well, to tell you the truth I do not want horrifying speed at the moment. I am sure I can find an old Chevy truck and pull out hte 350 from there. But I am 16 with a Fast food job 6.12 an hour icon_smile.gif which makes things a little complicated but I know the swap can be done. I will end up buying the JTR manual. Once I get a 280Z you guys will be getting a lot of questions from me...Thanks for the help Dave.

Hey OtakuZ.

Look at the post under Chevy V8Z for the "how much have you spent on the conversion?" There are 3 pages of how much people have spent on various setups. That will give you some ideas.

I posted the $500 swap.

$35 for a 84 300ZX 5spd--bad moter. Have sold $100+ parts + shipping & have the 5spd 4 sale, $75 + shipping.

I have on hand Ford V8s & SBCs with ATs and/or sticks, that JYs here won't even pick up = $000.

They run and that is good enough for what I want.

Several people have sead the JTR book will help little on the 300 swap.

Several other people have said the swap is ease.

I plan to do the wrench work first, then body.

I don't want a show car, just one that haules ass.
