Guest Anonymous
The drives side fit great, mainly because of the slip on primary. But the engine in my 77 280 sits a little to the pass. side of the car. Is this normal or did who ever make up my motor mounts mess up. I know the pass. side halfshaft is the shorter of the two, so does that mean everything is paritally off centered to the right side of the car (pass. side). The header made contact on the framerail, and the motor mount. I could just remove the rear bolt of the motor mount and cut the mount, meaning i would be running just 2 of the 3 bolts on the passenger side. But I can't cut the framerail. does anybody eles have an off centered set-up with long tubes. My other option now would be MSA longtubes. But I want the 1 3/4 primary header if they fit, any help would would be great.
Mudge
The Hooker LTs for the V8s are for the Scarab setup, not JTR, if thats your situation. So to get them to work, well will probably take some work.
Guest Anonymous
Unless no one can help on the headers, do a search function. Yep that engine is offset and no one messed up on the motor mounts. The oem L6 was also offset most likely due that is an overhead cam "slant" six in a light car. Not only is JTR "setback" but also "offset" I assume we are talking JTR V8 SBC Zee?
Guest zfan
If it is real close to fitting and the headers are not coated as of yet, I would get the cutting tools and welder out and make it fit. Then take them to a shop and have them coat them! PS. I know, they wouldn't fit my Z with a sbc/700r4 combo so I cut them and had to weld them up but mine were coated already. I was real careful and barely damaged coating..you would really have to look hard to notice. Mike
