Guest Anonymous
What are the LT1 people doing for fuel pumps. Iv'e found some inline pumps on the internet but am not sure of the best pick. I have also considered installing a factory pump in the stock 280Z gas tank. Who has done either of these options and your opinion of the best way of doing this for maintainance free operation. I have searched the archives and didn't find the answer I was looking for. Thanks Joe
Tim240z
Joe, I am using the MSD inline pump. I haven't fired the engine yet, so I don't know how well they work. There was a recent post saying that they battle a bit of they are above the level of the fuel. The post was about 1 week ago, but sorry can't remember the title. Guest Anonymous
hansen, I have done it several ways. First went with the stock 280-z fuel pump. Worked fine until tank about half empty then starvation in turns. Then went to a surge tank fed by a pusher pump and then to the stock 280-z fuel pump. Worked great, no starvation. Would suck the stock tank dry. Later went to head and cam package so I up graded to a cell but still with the surge tank and a big mallory fuel pump. The surge tank is the key for me. Holds about a quart so high pressure pump always has fuel. I think that is an easier solution than an in tank pump but just my opnion.
