Guest Shiin Posted January 15, 2003 Share Posted January 15, 2003 I was wondering if it is possible to upgrade the stock ZXT motor injectors with injectors from a Z31(300zx) to 9/85 Z31(production date)I've found the 555cc injectors and was wondering if they would work in the zxt motor. Lots of L28 turbo guys upgrade to the merkur injectors (370cc) as a starting point....but 84-89 300zxt injectors do fit. (330cc I'm pretty sure) Lots of 300zxt in the junkyards these days, I'm sure they are more plentiful than some of the other injectors people stuff into their Z's. I have a friend who ran the 300zxt injectors in a modded N/A 77 L28, and they ran a bit rich for him, but they did work...I'm sure they would be more than enough for a modestly boosted L28. I ran as much as 18psi on my T3 (VG30ET)with stock injectors, and never saw my air/fuel monitor read lean. Maybe some of the L28 turbo guys who like experiments, can try them out... might be another option for turbo guys. I have 3 VG30ET motors as backups.. Just wanted to see if it was worth getting 6 of them. The list stated that there were only 256 available in stock as well as having the same quantity for the 314cc injectors. fl327 Posted January 15, 2003 Share Posted January 15, 2003 could you figure out how much cc were dealing with here, i did the math on 314cc and at 85 percent duty they are good for about 264 crank hp, i would be interested in picking up a set though, they sound small enough to tune for an ok idling mixture.
