Lockjaw
Anybody ever have to replace the vacuum port in the front SU? Mine is broken off, and no I did not break it. How can I fix it? Any idea where to get something that will work if I drill out the broken off piece?
Guest Anonymous
Yo. Its just a piece of brass tubing pressed into the aluminum of the carb body..........putting something else in there (that is a good fit), should not be a problem. The only issue I see is that the brass piece has a specific sized oriface (hole) that restricts the vac. My guess is you need to match that. Don't have a spare junk carb lying arround that you can steal from?
Lockjaw
Well I just might, but the car seems to run fine without vacuum advance, and I am not sure it is working anyway. Still working all that out.
Guest bajcsi
What I am curious as to is why you are not having issues with the way your car runs. If the port is sitting open you should have a vacuum leak, no? Brett
Lockjaw
Plugged it? Solder is a wonderful thing.
