ratedZ
Hey guys, some of you know I swapped out my electronic gauges to an analog set up. Along with the swap, I put in the speedo cable that came in the 79 donor car. Now it's making a very annoying scratching sound which is then accompanied with the jumping speedo needle. I know it has to be bad...my question is this, would the 130mph speedo work if I put my original speedo cable back in? It was for the electronic cluster which only went up to 85mph. Thanks. Guest Anonymous
yes the cable should work, remember its not the cable thats limited to 85mph, its your speedo.

Guest Anonymous
Speedometer problem, I found most noises and bouncing needle can be solved by greasing the cable before installing with lots of white grease. What's happening is the dry cable is binding in the housing thus causing noise and bouncing. Good luck. Sunny
