Guest Anonymous
Can a rear seal go bad from just sitting? I parked over a year ago and nothing was leaking just got to the point of running again after the vehicle sat while I did suspension and body work, etc., etc...... I cranked it up after changing the oil and filter and the rear main seal is pouring. Arrrrg! I have never had this happen before. I have other vehicles that have sat for longer periods of time and it never happened. Anybody else ever experience this before?
Guest Anonymous
If it is the old 2 piece rear main seal on a sbc, it can spring a leak on a regular basis (LOL) but can be fixed with a lot of manual dexterity while in the vehicle with a little slider tool called a "Sneaky Pete" A former renter left me with a 350 SBC in a vehicle that needs the assistance of a little Pete and expert hand jive.
