Guest Anonymous
Would appreciate some info on selecting a primer for fiberglass. 1. Need some primer with imperfection filling properties compatiable to fiberglass ..... 2. a final primer coat for fiberglass. Nate is lined up at the Community College to paint the Velo Rossa and between the two of us, we can hope to get a good primer coat on it this fall...... As an added note and fiberglass body tips , We found that the roll lock scotch brite discs for air grinders removed the fiberglass body parting lines cleanly and quickly (If you did not hang around one area very long and make circular grooves) The McBurnie/Thunder Raunch fiberglass front clip is lining up by the temporary addition of securing with screws, the fenders to the hood across the top of the hood/fender gap with 1/8 thick X 2 inch wide flat bar plates. The fenders and hood now line up with a nice even gap all around which also aided in lining up the fenders to the windshield cowl and doors. This works great! blueovalz
RacerX sometimes gets pretty busy and may take a day or so to reply, so keep on bumping.
Guest Anonymous
The car is Nezzie 76's Velo Rossa that has body algnment problems which are about half solved. Then the entire body needs work. The rear tub is about half finised and needs primer because, we have penetrated some of the gelcoat, Need a good initial primer to fill in and then "block sand" before the final primer coat before going to the final paint color. Guest Anonymous
Thanx Racer X. We made some progress on the body panels today and definitely looking at a NEP 280 primer coming out of a spray gun in the near future. I told Nate this afternoon that you were probably on vacation. Hope the vacation was a needed rest.
