A noob engine selection question

I'm thinking about doing V8 sbc conversion on a 240z and was wondering how to find the engine. Never called and asked places about aquiring an engine and I don't know what to call it. I want a 350 sbc v8 carburated, but do you ask for it like that or what. Do you request one by year, I'm a totally clueless noob ugg.gif when it comes to these things malebitchslap.gif .

Also was wondering how you would mod the hood it you were to add a supercharger to it. I've seen pics of blown efi v8s, but haven't seen a blown carburated v8 with it's hood down or for that fact a hood at all. Any help will be greatly apprecieted. I've done searchs, but with no much luck. cry2.gif

call salvage yards, engine rebuilders, and vette clubs, and just ask around where ever you work.someone will have what your looking for. or if your in a hurry you can buy a new crate engine short block, add performance heads, cam and intake and carb.then add whatever other parts you want too and get exactly what you want.

heres some places to look,

The simplest, cleanest, and most reliable way to install a sbc is to buy a long block from a reputable speed shop. I've found performance stroker sbc with upgrade heads etc. for around $1500 - this is freshly bored, honed, bearings, etc.
