Guest napadave
I am a happy new Z owner 71 with L28 motor and 5 speed have added headers and set of Webers are on the way. Tokico Illumina's springs and the Toyota Brake convervision are in the garage. My question is broad but need help. I plan on building a stroker motor for it. I purchased a P90 head off of ebay and am ready to send it to the head shop but need info on what are the best mods Pardon my ignorance but new to the L motors would do small block Chev but building a stout 6 is more of a challenge to me! Mudge
I think the typical things would be in order, bronze valve guides, new steel seats of your choice, maybe some nice new valves, yada yada. New seals/springs etc, cam if you like, in which case you need to get new rockers and lash pads. If you resurface the head for higher compression (sounds like your staying NA?), then you need to raise the cam towers and again recalculate lash pad size for proper 'wipe' pattern from the cam lobe to rocker. Rather a PITA but thats the price of OHC setups. I chickened out on an NA setup, I'm going turbo.
Guest napadave
Any ideas on where I can get the info on raising the cam towers? How much can one shave and still have reliabilty? Is there someone who supplies the lash pads? I thought about turbo but decided to stick with NA.
Mudge
Nissan, or Motorsport Auto have lash pads, not sure if Victoria Britsh has them. http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/2824/head.html You can find info on cam tower spacers at the above link.
