Guest Your Car is Slow
Anyone make one of these? It seems my stocker is coming apart (drivers side at the top is showing a large bubble)...and its probably going to need to be replaced soon. Instead of forking out the cheese for another stocker...id rather get a lexan part to save a ton of weight if possible Ive noticed all the other threads and it seems that lexan is an easy swap for the rear and side windows....but not much about the front. johnc
If this is for a street car, don't bother. You'll be replacing it annually due to rock chips, pits, etc. Most places that make Lexan race windows can use your old windshield as a template/mold to build a Lexan one. Expect to pay about three times the cost of a stock replacement window for a proper Lexan one.
Guest Your Car is Slow
Ahhh...well thats not really what I wanted to hear...how about you rephrase that to say "Yes brian...its only 20 dollars and I can have one shipped to you tomorrow...it will also install itself!" Seriously..thanks for the info. Ill stick with just replacing the rears/sides now!
Guest AlsoRanFPrepared
I made my own using the stock windshield as a template. In my particular situation I did not intend this car to be a street driven car and did not use the rubber seal that holds the windshield in. I used rivets to hold the the lexan in the opening and have had no issues with it. It takes careful measurements and very careful cutting but it can be done. Not worth it if you really dont need to reduce the weight.
