23 Degree Verses 20 Degree Cylinder Heads

Recommended Posts

That Is The Question? :P Well anyway here is what I am looking at. The Holley cylinder heads I want are HOLLEY 300-552, They have a 20 degree Valve angle rather than the normal 23 degree angle. "I CAN'T get the search function to tell me what I need to know" What if anything do I need to do to my valve trane to use the 20 degree heads?

Thank You. http://www.holley.com/HiOctn/ProdLine/Products/AMS/AMSCH/SBChevy.html

The best source of info on this I think would be Holley, but I would guess that you don't need to do anything special except check push rod length. I have a set of the original TFS Twisted Wedge heads that have one valve at 23 and the other at 13 degrees. Because they use guide plates, you need hardened pushrods, but othewise bolt on.
