80LS1T
Ok I was thinking if I cut the fuel lines down by where the fire wall ends by the frame rails, that I could flare the ends and use rubber hose from there the to connections on the fuel rail and clamp them on??? Will this work or is this a big NO-NO! Remeber this is a fuel injected engine! So the pressure will be about 40 PSI! I would really like to use braided steel lines but my budget is getting really tight right now and I just want something that will work for now. My engine will be done in about 3 weeks so I want to get all these "odds and ends" out of the way! Thanks, Guy
Guest greimann
If you mean to put a flare on the end of the hard line to act as a barb to retain the hose, that should work, but be careful not to go too big on the flare that will cause a big difference in size between tube and the flare. A hose seals against the tube, and the barb is strictly there for retention. It is critically important that you find fuel injection rated hose of the proper size to fit the hard line sungly. Also use two hose clamps for security and triple check the system for leaks under pressure by shaking and pulling on the hose. A fuel leak above a hot exhaust pipe can make for a very exciting day. Believe me I have first hand experience.
