Guest Anonymous
Do I need to take the whole front cover off the engine or can I just take off the pully, slide the old seal off and slide the new one into place? Let me know what to do. Charles
niceguy678us
All you need to do is remove the balancer , but make sure you use the proper tool(a three arm gear puller) or you could damage things. Carefully remove the old seal I like to use a very thin, small flat head screw driver(they make a tool for this but it is awkward with the front cover still on the engine) MAKE SURE you do not scratch the soft aluminum cover!! After you have CAREFULLY removed the old seal put the new one up to the area and press it in with your fingers till it holds itself in place. I then usually use a small hammer (Brad nail hammer) to tap the seal in place making gentle taps all the way around the piece as to make a uniform seat. <--I love that little guy
Synlubes
You might what to remove the radiator.(if you haven`t already) I`t will give you alot more working room + it would suck to bust a whole in it. It comes out easy enough.
Guest timn
A dab of high-quality grease on both the inside and outside (the surfaces that contact the front cover and the crank) is always good!
