Guest jens
I have a 9" without ring and pinion + lsd in my car. Can i just swap the ring and pinion + lsd housing from another 9" or do i have to move all the parts and make adjustments.
blueovalz
Just unbolt the "pumpkin" (this includes the pinion gear with it) from one 9" housing, and stick it in the other's housing. No adjustments needed until you start swapping the 'carrier only' by itself, or the gears only (without the attendent carrier) by themselves. Guest jens
Thanks sounds good. But how about the splines are there different types axles
blueovalz
To my knowledge, there are only two spline counts that work with the traditional 9". A 28 (common) and the 31 (high performance). The 28 will work in just about anything other than full-out competion. I ran the 28 spline axles in low 13 second full bodied (and weight) Mustangs and never twisted or broke one.
