Where are the wires to hook the alternator up to the battery

I have been haveing this problem with the 240 I just bought. The thing is that the battery starts up the car, and the alternator takes over, however the alternator does not charge up the battery. Upon further investigation into the problem, I have found that the battery cables go to the starter but there are no wires that go from the alternator to charge the battery. There are two wires that come off the battery, but they have been cut off so they don't go anywhere. Where are the wires that come out of the alternator, so I can make this baby charge the stupid battery?

Here is some info on the wires, where they go and what they do. If you need clarification on something I have a Haynes, and a 240 to look at.
