KraZeeZX
Ok, My project is nearly done but working on my gauges has been like going through hell and back only to get one properly working gauge in the stock cluster. My only option now is to go with a complete aftermarket set. I guess I'll be using some plain 'ol autometer gauges (price is a factor so autometer wins). I just have a few questions about sending units and what I will need to get in order to get these gauges working properly. Here are the gauges I am buying... - Tachometer - Speedometer - Oil Pressure - Fuel Pressure - Fuel level - Water Temp. - Alternator (that's Voltometer right?) - Boost Now my question is, if I order all of these gauges, say from summit racing, do they come with all of the necessary sending units? And if they do come with the units, will they work with the 98 LS1/T-56 combo that I have? Or do I need to get some sending units from a GM dealer? And, for any of the above scenarios, which sending units do I need? I need to get ahold of these parts ASAP, I'm not worried about the gauges bein too fancy for now. I just need to get the above gauges installed and working. All of your help is GREATLY appreicated! Thanks -Vann
Tim240z
Tach is no problem. Just needs a signal, which the LS1 PCM can provide. Speedo: get the electronic one ($$$$$$), and then all it needs is signal fromPCM. If you are getting electric water temp and oil pressure, then they will come with senders. Voltmeter is no problem. No senders required. Fuel level may be a problem, unless you are changing to a GM 0-90 ohm sender. Why a boost gauge? Are you going forced induction on the LS1? KraZeeZX
Tim, Thanks for the reply... RIght now the only gauge that works is the fuel gauge so I figure it shouldn't be a problem. I'm using a boost gauge to go with my Vortech V9 supercharger. -Vann
