Guest thepenguin99
How much boost/hp will the stock zxt pistons handle? My goal is 250-300rwhp if I go turbo and I am wondering if the stock bottom end can handle this. thx Nathan
Lockjaw
They will handle that with ease, as long as you don't ping. Ping it hard one time and it doesn't matter what you have. While forged is better by a long shot, remember this, aluminum is aluminum, not matter whether forged or cast, and it all melts at the same temp. Guest Zcarsmakemyheadhurt
I think you can manage that with a stock short block. I use a 60-1 turbo and boost from 15-23psi. The combination is well put together (not alot of money) and all points are programable, and that wear the safty lays. If you can program every part of the combination ie fuel and ignition. You should be able to have a safe tune that make lots of horsepower. Work on that stuff then if you blow your engine making 500hp+ you wont feel too bad. Good luck.
