Guest Anonymous
If I go with an auto can I switch to a man and still use the same shaft? Are a C4 and a T5 the same length? just trying to decide what I want to do. there are a lot of autos cheap but I love the manual with that top gear and what it does to shorten those midnight runs
Dp351zcar
This is not really what you are asking but with a rough measurement I made on my T5 it is the same length as the AOD I am putting in. If you want I can measure a C4 I have also. You see I wasn't sure which tranny I wanted to run so I have all three to cover my bases. Guest Anonymous
that would be wonderful! my main reason for wanting to be able to switch is that I have a habit of destroying at least one clutch a year Clutch life varies of course.... depending on my level of "ENTHUSIASM" but its very possible that i might want to change the trans, maybe just for a change of if its not to complicated or takes a different drive shaft or something can you measure the T 5 for me and give me the numbers? Dp351zcar
Ok the numbers I got were AOD 29", T5 24+7.5 for the bellhousing 157 tooth. The C4 is apart but I think addding up the pieces it comes to around 29-30". Hope this helps. Don
