DavyZ
It could be fuel or ignition. I had some strange problems with the car dying and such until I replaced the ignition module with another one--problem solved. Oh, and I was blowing fusable links too until I did that mod. Guest storm280z
this might sound dumb but what happens when a fusible link is blown
fl327
when a link goes, you generally lose power to the key on position, which means the ecu will not fire and ignition wont get power, heres a weird one, nissan wired the links up so that the radio dies when a link goes, the efi link that is. i had this problem in my car and traced it back to a faulty fusible link, i also had bad battery leads too, when the link would go otu, my radio would go out too, but the lights would still be on, i just made another link, and it was good to go. Guest torynich
As for the wheel shake, check your wheel bearings. Also give a quick check to make sure your lug nuts are tight, I've done that one before and felt like a complete idiot when the rim came off... innerware
Wow, you have a list of things that need addressing I think. I was in your same shoes about a year and a half. Do your self a favor and clean the engine good. It will help you move around in it and look around easier. Check all your wire connections. I had to replace all my connection; ie, to the injectors, temp sendor, thermotime. There are more too, I just can't remember. Check your battery cables. Make sure the terminals are clean and the cables are attached well. The fuseable links are located on the passenger side of the car mounted infront of the battery. They are in two seperate pods. Maybe you still have the white covers over them. If they are old and haven't been replaced in a while (like ever) then they are sure to be brittle and may break if removed. Buy new ones and remove and check the links. They are just what they sound like. They are an old type of fuse. A bit of thick wire connecting two terminals. Check them and maybe replace. Most everything plastic in there is old and brittle by now. It is real frustrating but be patient. After I replaced plugs and connections my problems went away. The idle issue might be your BCDD valve. I am not sure what it means or what it does. I had that problem and was told that if I blocked it with a solid gasket that there would be no problem. I did that and my idle is good now. Maybe someone else can chime in. Just give it love and affection. Clean it real good and give it a full tune up. It is real easy. That is how I learned. Get the manual for the car. You can aquire one on cd from courtesynissan.com It is a real help and wan't all that expensive. Finding an actual real copy can be hard, and the cd version lets you print out just what section you need. I carry a binder with me in my car with all the chapters printed out. It has paid for itself. Good luck and have fun.

Guest Hceline17
Hey toyota, besides the new battery did you change fluids and spray some oil in the cylinders before you started that car for the first time in a couple years? If not you might be causing another whole host of problems... I don't have my Z yet, but knowing cars in general that's what I would say. Anyway, my suggestion is just like Innerware's give it a tune-up and some Tender-Loving-Care
