A few years ago just about everyone was saying to use a the NA transmission instead of the BW turbo unit(shifts better). He was using a NA trans for quite some time while the was mostly stock, with good luck. Well in the past years we have put 3 transmissions and only none has surived(13's). Most won't even move the car, have no gears left. Is there anything that can be done to make these transmissions stronger? P.S. Everyone shifted fine no grinds or anything untill BOOM no gears. Lockjaw Posted May 14, 2003 Share Posted May 14, 2003 Well first thoughts would be how is he shifting, ie is he lifting his foot off the gas or speed shifting. I would also run a good synthetic trans fluid. The ZX trans should easily handle a 13 second car. One other thing to check for is no pilot bushing in the end of the crank.
