Guest 240hybrid
Well, I went out and bought another Z last sunday to have fun with and put my NA 2.8 into later....its a blue 72 240z with rails that dont have any holes, minor surface surface rust , thats a shocker. Floor boards will need replacing and rust holes patched here and there on the body, but this 72 comes second to my 73 240zxt project that I need to finish out. I got it for $300, the seller said that it ran when he gravity feed fuel to the motor. He thought the fuel pump was shot, but that wasnt the case. The thing had been sitting for 8 years and the fuel wasnt worth a turd. I drained the tank out a few days ago (smelled like paint thinner), and added a few gallons of 93 octane. Put $30 bucks in fuel filters, plugs, rotor button and distrib. cap and the car cranked right up. The odometer says 70,000 and Im pretty sure its not 170,000 unless it was take care of very well, being that I took it out for a little spin to see what kind of life the motor still has and laid down about 20 feet of rubber coming out at 3K(only 1 wheel ) on a motor that has been sitting for 8 years and hasnt had the carbs tuned yet. Well worth the $300 I spent on it! I didnt rev it motor all the way out either, I dont have insurance on it yet and didnt want to be hot rodding it yet. I have a 3.54 R200 to put into it and after some tunning and body work this $300 car will be pretty nice. I still plan to put my L28 into it, but this motor will do for now. I'll be trying to get pics of both of my Zs if it ever stops raining here Im sick of this weather. Hopefully I'll have it on the road soon , but is on the back burner till Im done with the 73 turbo. Now the disease has taken hold....I have 2 Z's Chase Morrison
