Guest livewire23
the 77 system switches to closed loop operation when it warms up right? Now what would happen if there was no O2 sensor installed in the car? I assume it just stays in open loop right? But is it possible that the lack of an o2 sensor is causing me to lean out when the car warms up? And where is the wire that hooks up to the o2? I have a downpipe with an o2 sensor now, but nowhere to hook it up.
fl327
lack of 02 makes you run rich, lean idle i would check the afm and the tps connections, but if they are off you generally run rich and or surge a whole lot.
Guest livewire23
actually, im pretty sure the fuel pickup in the tank is clogged. I was just wondering about the lack of o2 i dunno how im gonna clean out the tank though. I hope i dont end up having to leave my tank at a shop for a week to get it cleaned. I drained it before, but that didnt do the trick. and somehow i figure spraying your tank with a hose may not be the best idea...
Guest livewire23
oh, actually its not lean idle. its basically too lean to get up to redline (that old problem again) except now its only when its warm. and if i blow air through the pickup in the tank, the problem will go away for a while. I think the pump cant suck up as much fuel as it would like, and the pressure at the rail drops.
Guest jt240z
The 77 280Z never had an O2 Sensor. The ECU has no provisions for it. No "Closed Loop" control.
