80LS1T
That's going to be a tough question to answer? It's really a matter of your opnion. I know some guys like the old school SWASTICA(sp?) rims but I really cant stand the look of them. Some like the IRON CROSS rims and some don't, I think they look nice but again they are just one of the stock rims for the 280ZX's. Aftermarket is a whole nother story. I really like the Mustang Cobra rims. They are a 5 star type pattern with a 5 lug pattern. I bought KONIG MONSOON 17x7's that resemmble the Mustang rims but they also have their own look too. I really love my rims and I cant wait to get them on the car! This is with the rim on but no tires yet... Guy

80LS1T
Here's is what I am talking about.... http://www.hybridz.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=7088&highlight=mustang I also like the polished ones too!
Guest 240hybrid
http://www.modern-motorsports.com/catalog/default.php Ross C offers wheel adapters that make 36-40 mm offset (honda wheels) possible to mount. God only knows how many wheels are out there with this spec. Put this web page on your favorites, he offers a bunch of modifications for Zs. Like said before, wheels are matter of opinion. I like the panasports if my opinion matters. Light and good looks Chase
Guest evl
I like the panasports if my opinion matters. Light and good looks I'll second that. Personally, I think most modern rims look a bit out of place on the Z. I think the panasports look sharp without draing atention away from the car. When you look at it, you don't say, "hey, nice rims", you say "hey, nice car". But then I'm probably biased. Here's how they look on my Z: http://www.hybridz.org/phpBB2/album_pic.php?pic_id=
Guest 240hybrid
What size are those wheels?? Just curious.
Guest evl
16x7" (offset = 22mm/backspacing = 4" according to my notes). Motorsport auto, carries them, but I think I got them from someone else... can't remember who now. Tires are 225/50ZR16 Yokohama A032R's. As shown the suspension is stock, front works great, the rear rubs a bit on hard bumps. Someone with more nerve than I might be able to bend out the fenders, or bend up the lip to take care of that problem. I'm a bit nervous about cracking the paint tho. Guest tt350
You know what would look really nice on a Z. The TORQ thrust 2 wheels. Those look awesome, and you can get them WIIIIIIIIIIIIDE! I also love the BBS rims and the ones on Darius's car. I think BBS is the best wheel maker of all time, especially the Black Chrome ones. But thats too much money for me. Oi. I wish Id finish school already! Anyway, I think you can go to http://www.tirerack.com and try out diffrent sets of rims on your car (althgouh they dont have a lowering option) but it gives you a rough idea. Good luck. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2417482301 this auction is selling the black chrome ones. Also, check out Ro_Ja and Advan. They have some nice ones in their line ups (i dont think they go to 300 series width though, which is what im lookin for, hehe)
Guest 240hybrid
Im probalbly gonna go with the panasports from MSA in a few months once I get the spare $. You said that the 225/50s rub heh. I wonder how much larger of a tire you can go with coilovers? I like the panasports, but want something wider than 225's.

I'm in the process of going to coilovers, and I should be able to get quite a bit wider, not sure what wheel I'll use then.
