what do you all think?

hey,

I have a NA 280zx and I'm having troubles with my fuel delivery. I also want to build up my engine to put out some power, but have read that the NA l28 is not preferable for this. I've been comparing my options and I think I have decided to swap in a JY 280zxt engine because of my limited funds. I read that all I would need to do to the NA wiring harness to accept the turbo engine is wire in the zxt efi system...

The only harness you need is the EFI harness. Everything else stays the same.
I have also been looking at the MegaSquirt fuel injection system. So what I am thinking is buying megasquirt, put it together and install it on my NA 280zx to make sure it all works, then buy the turbo engine and it should be a direct install. so what do you all think, am I overlooking anything?

thanks,

eric

Eric,

As long as you can handle the engine swap, you will be doing little if any extra work to get it to run on a turbo as far as megasquirt is concerned. When you go turbo, the car should theoretically run similar when off boost and you will just have to tune the boosted areas of the fuel map.

One more thing, you will have to tell the megasquirt that you are using new injectors and it will automatically scale your Required Fuel value for you.

That's it.
