I have a Customer that wants me to help him make his Z more civilized.

It has a chevy 350 and a turbo 350 transmission.

the engine has solid mounts and the front sway bar is missing! my question is what motor mounts do I need to get to replace the solid mounts, and how can I install a swaybar that won't interfere with the crank pulley?

any help or suggestions will be appreciated.

Call 1-925-462-3619 and order the JTR Manual for Datsun Z V8 Conversion. You can fabricate a whole new set of simple set back plates and mounts from the diagrams in this manual that uses rubber mounted 1965 - 72 Chevrolet truck motor mounts. This method sets the engine further back and down lower with no sway bar interference. Your customers car has probably some other modifications using some of the popular aftermarket solid motor mounts that fit a lot of chevys and camaros. Some rbber mounted motor mounts would probably civilize that hybrid substantially.

you can also change out the motor mounts only, which will make it really drivable, and sway bar should not interfere with the crank pulley. sounds like this was a dragster

with no front sway bar and all. i would also check the trans mount and the diff mount to see if those are solid as well, it would be nice to have the mounts all the same compound so it doesnt shake the mounts to death. depends on what customer wants and how much he wants to spend. shifting the motor back will complicate a lot of things , driveshaft, trans mount, fuel pump, balancer circumfrence, header clearances, youll open up a can of worms, but if the customer wants that the customer is ALWAYS right.

Thanks for the input, I do not have the car at my shop yet, so I will have to wait until its here to check the trans mounts. I will order the conversion manual also.
