ZR8ED
I had the car cleaned up for a night on the town this weekend. The new much quieter diff mount is working great! Well I decided It was time... stock boost (5-6psi) is not cutting it for me..hehe It took a bit to figure out my boost controller...I thought I recalled 30 some odd clicks of the knob (turbo smart boost controller) well I had turned it to 18 and was worried when it was still at near stock boost... so when I brought the car back after testing the new diff mount, I decided to count how many more turns to get the controller fully closed (max boost)... well I counted 70 more clicks of the controller!!!! No wonder 18 clicks got me next to know where! hehehe I then counted back to closed, and opened it 40 clicks..(1 click seems to be 1/16th of a turn or so) so when I went out i was happily surprised to see 9 psi on my guage when under load! I'll drive for a few days, and then turn it to 12.. where I stop is when fuel starts to get lean! hehehe Wahoo! 9 psi put me easily out front of a modded mustang gt! ... not going to say when or where it happened....hehehe 8) not too shab! if I say so myself. My buddies modded supra eats mustangs all day long...and he walked away from me at 6 psi... So 9psi is a pretty large step... The turbo has a bit more lag than my old t3, but spools nicely by 3400 or so.. give or take depending on the gear... power is very flat feeling.. it doesn't feel peaky at all.. once the boost is up, it pulls evenly to redline.. which comes up fast.. very decieving with such a flat torque curve (in comparison to my many years with a peaky 2.9 L6) Hope you all enjoy your weekend!
