Guest under_od
I am new to this forum and have decided to look into other alternatives to rebuilding the engine a third time. Connecting rod bearings and main bearing problems appear to be the achilles heel of the engine. My setup included greddy intercoolers, exhaust, greddy TD05 turbo kit, forged JE pistons and forged eagle rods, jim wolf ecu, dual POP intake and blitz boost controller. 460-520 rwhp is nice, but not when it lasts for only six thousand miles. How realistic is the rb26dett swap? How much custom fabrication is needed and will the z transmission also have to be replaced? Sorry in advance, if this post has been talked to death already. I am not a teenager and realise that this will require alot of money.
fl327
never was into the twin turbo setup, everything you buy is double sorry to hear you are having so much trouble with it. the rb into a zx gets done at lot in japan go for it, if you can tear down that motor and put it back together again, this should be a piece of cake for you, right? Guest under_od
No, Unfortunately, I removed the engine and dissasembled it to find the problem and save the money. The engine builds and machine work was paid for.
fl327
source an rb26dett and an rb25det trans, should be in the 4-5k range to skip wiring issues, i would go with a haltec or other standalone system 500hp can be done on the stock bottom end, not sure what stock turbos can put out. i would go with big single, not sure what size or anything. not sure how it fits, since the the v6 looks like it bearly fits in its own chassis. i would check out the rb forum, im sure at least one of those guys has a link to show you a rb in a 300zxtt
