Guest bobnagga
Alright. say I wanted to swap a 327twin turbo & a stingray 4speed tranny into my '82 ZX? say I had the donor car right next to me? I need to know what else I need to do to my car to make it run, how to reinforce the frame, etc.
Guest thepenguin99
Just a couple problems I can think of off the top of my head. The 4sp gearing is not exactly what I would call highway friendly. The turbo header will have some problems on the drivers side because of the steering.
Guest greimann
The ZX frame is fairly beefy compared to the 240Z. I would recommend strut braces connected at the firewall and an X brace up front at the radiator support would be good too. Unless this is going to be a drag only car, an overdrive transmission really should be in your plans. Like Mr Penguin said, the steering shaft is going to be a problem, unless your turbo setup brings the manifold up and forward, in which case it should fit very nicely. As far as what it would take to make it run? Red to positive, black to negative, and fuel goes in the little hole at the front....... Pictures please of the donor car...... fl327
do it. you may not have overdrive, but you will have a stick tranny that will take it and put the power down, also, the 327 is invincible!!!
