Guest Anonymous
My Z's been in storage for about 3 yrs, and I finally have some time and money to fix her up. One thing that kept happening to me before I put her away was the car either would start, than immediately shut off, or would start, idle normally, but if I moved the car (ie., pushed it with my hands, or even opened/closed the door) the motor would die. My buddies father said I "might" have vapor lock. First off, is vapor lock even possible with a fuel injected motor? Second, if so, how common is it to Z's? btw. 78, 280Z, 5 spd, everything's pretty much original.
PhaTTy
You said it would die if you pushed the car or closed the door... Sounds like you have a really bad connection somewhere... It is definetely not vapor lock... That hardly ever happens on a Z, and your engine would have to be running extremely hot for it to even be possible.
