80LS1T
Ok I just got finish loading up my car on the car hauler! I am taking it in tommorow for exhaust!!! Ok I have a few questions now... 1.) my car runs like crap now... could that be because there is no exhaust and there isnt enough back pressure? I doesnt seem to have instant power when I snap the throttle? It kinda hesitates...I think this could also be the tunning that is on the computer right now(it was Darius's old computer with his set up for a supercharger) I dont have the O2's hooked up either but it should still run ok but not great, right? 2.) I am going to buy TUNERCAT for my car and I have a 93 LT1 engine, now since TUNERCAT is for 94-97(94/95 in my case) will I have a problem since the 94-97 was "seqencial(sp?) EFI" and not "bank fired" like the 93's? I just want to make sure that I dont buy all the stuff to do the TUNERCAT and then find out that I cant do it to my engine! I emailed TUNERCAT with the same questions so hopefully they will get back to me with a deffinent answer right away. Anyways I really need some input on the TunerCat....will it work? 80LS1T
Here's what Tuner Cat had to say about my idea... Hi Guy, Thank you for your e-mail. Unfortunately, the '93 and the '94/95 PCM's are quite different and the wiring is not the same so I wouldn't recommend trying to move up to the '94/95 PCM. There are a couple of ways you can get around the problem of burning EPROM's though. You can use the C.A.T.S. RT Tuner program and the Xtronics Romulator EPROM emulator. This allows you to make your calibration changes in real time while the engine is running so you can see immediately see the effects of your changes. Once you get the calibration the way you want it, you can then burn a final EPROM for the PCM. The other option is to get a FLASH adapter which allows you to replace the EPROM with a FLASH chip which can be erased and reprogrammed much like the '94/95 PCM's. These adapters are available from Craig Moates (http://moates.net/). If you have any other questions or would like additional information, please do not hesitate to contact us. Best Regards, TC Yeah that sucks! I am just going to buy a chip from Street & Performance for now and then maybe buy all that other crap that they are talking about to burn chips/flash chips. This was not the answer I was looking for Guy
