JoeinCA
That thing must be alot of fun. 495 lb dry weight... what's your top speed? I have a 78 cx500. It isn't really fast, and i am having chronic carburetor problems.. but i had it running great for about 2 weeks. never tried for top speed though. it would be nice to have a vehicle that just worked perfectly for once. some day.... Guest Your Car is Slow
Ah..ive always loved the ZX7....such a stable platform...just way too underpowered and way too overweight for me You do own one of a dying breed....I fear the 7 will go the way of the dodo once the ZX10 is reborn. Bostrom should be unbeatable
CruxGNZ
My old stock Honda Sabre V-65 1100 that I crashed dyno'd at 125hp and 127ft. lbs., but the bike was exactly 600lbs. with me and a full tank . LOTS of torque, but just as quick as my buddies Yamaha YZF600R. After 40mph., we were always dead even. Bikes are so much fun! !M!
scottyMIz
top speed on the road i have no idea on the dyno it was like 115mph.I am dead even in races against my friend's really nice 01 zx6r ninja his dyno'd in at 99hp he beat all the bikes there that where 600's there was a new r6 yamaha that dyno'd under my bike by .2hp i thought it would do good sounded good but not too good on the dyno. There was a race gike that went on there to just show he could be 99hp that my friend laid down which everyone knew it would. His r1 race bike ran 148hp and he was gonna tune it some with all the sensors hooked up to it.It was funny tho i have my bike piped and jetted and as soon as he pulled my bike on the dyno he grabbed the ear protection he didn't use it for anyone elses until i got mine in there and then for the rest of the sport bikes he used it.He was kinda hard on the bikes when down shifting and using the back breaks to stop the 800lb wheel.According to my fsm for my bike dry weight is 430lbs with meon it it'll be 565lbs i'm a lite weight I plan to take her to the track next weekend to see what she will do inthe quarter.I just changed the clutch in it cuz it was slipping when i pulled her apart the last three clutch disks where shattered but still in place .I changed them out and it has some balls now no slippage. When i hit second now it makes the front pop up and totally scared me, i was racing a 02 gsxr when it did it and i was winning Anyway i'll post some times when i get her out to the track.I even thought of turboing her i have one in the basement i could use
CruxGNZ
Weight: 595 HP: 90 Estimated 1/4 mile ET: 10.74 Estimated 1/4 mile MPH: 126.92 Estimated 1/8 mile ET: 6.84 Estimated 1/8 mile MPH: 102.52 Now add a turbo to that engine !M!
Guest Your Car is Slow
430lbs dry weight should easily be 475 - 500 with all fluids, gas, tires, oil, etc on the bike. Rider weight is a huge factor in a bike....along with rider skill. Horsepower is somewhat important...but can easily be overcome by skill.
