Guest Anonymous
I'm trying to put in Chevy Camero 350 motor in my 280ZX and I was wondering transmission would be the most compatible in my car with as little modifications as possible. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Guest greimann
Not sure what you consider too much modification, because an engine swap on the whole is a TON of modification. Any transmission is going to require a custom mount and driveshaft. If you are looking for one that fits easily without bashing in the sheetmetal, go with a Chevy T5, or possibly 700R4 automatic. Not sure about others.
80LS1T
Actually most of you wont beleive this but with the MSA mounts the T56 fits in the tunnel very nice. I did have to remove the old tranny mount "ears" from the tunnel but there was very little modification to the tunnel itself. But like Greimann said you will have to fabricate your own tranny mount unless you use the MSA engine/tranny mount kit. Its tranny mount is designed for the 700R4.
