ToplessZ
Hello. I was wondering. Can an Lt1 Crank shaft be used in an older block? Maybe with the 2 peice rear main adaptor? Found one cheap and I need a new one.
80LS1T
Well I think the LT1 crankshafts are lightend. I think you have to use lightweight components thats all. Im not 100% sure on this though. Maybe if Mudge is still around he could tell you. Guy
Guest heinera
You can use an lt1 crank in an 87+ v8 block. But because of the older 2 piece seal blocks having a smaller opening, it won't fit in an older block (pre 87, or something near that ). If you are worried about the balance, then use the lt1 pistons, and rods. They will fit in the block fine. This is info I got from David Vizards book on budget small blocks. But is from my memory, so might be mixed up. Adam
