Guest BigWhyteDude
hey guys i just drove my uncles 86 300zxtoday.Its in pritty good mechanical shape .But i took it out on the high way and at a long strait i nailed it. i looked back and noticed some black smoke in the rear view mirrors so i took it back to his house to check it out. I poped the hood and reved the engine and at mabe(i could'nt see the tac was reving it at the TB) 3500 RPM-and up there is thick black smoke coming from the tail pipe. I know its fuel but how exactly could i pin point what is causing it to run so rich??
yo2001
you can run OBD mode V and see the problem in real time. And run Mode III to see if you got a part that's broke.

yo2001
you need to get you a factory service manual. It can tell you how to run the diagnose. It's not hard. access the ECU and turn the knob on thet side of ECU according via FSM.
