replacing boots on 280zxt cv shafts.

i don't know of any way which doesn't involve destroying one part or another. the rubber boot is sandwiched in between the two metal flanges. i destroyed one myself trying to get them apart. the next issue is that that side doesn't come apart any further that i can see. if you could get the old rubber off you would then have to either take the tripod off the wheel end (by filing off the splines where they were pressed on), or trying to strech the new boot over the whole tripod. if somebody has another answer to this problem, other than sending them away to be rebuilt, please respond. otherwise i think i'll bite the bullet and send them in to be rebuilt. :?
