TomoHawk Posted July 27, 2003 Share Posted July 27, 2003 My reverse gear on the original Z transmission just quit working. I have to back up the car the HARD way. Is that bad (really bad) news, or will the scheduled tranny rebuild (Tuesday) fix it? I would like to know if it's going to ruin my budget for another 2-3 months. On the other hand, if there is a Trans with a lower high gear or an overdrive that will simply replace the original JATCO tranny, then a simple replacement would be better. Thx. evildky Posted August 2, 2003 Share Posted August 2, 2003 unless your bent on keeping it all origional I'd replace the trans, you can pick up used pieces for a song, I got a spare for $20 at that price I don't mind grinding gears when I race, also might be a good excuse to pick up a 280zx 5 speed ?
