Guest TreeCutter260z
i have vortec heads on my car but i rebuilt the motor using a 91 corvette lower end. the cam in a roller cam from crane cams with 222/230 duration and 509/528 lift. I was told that the stock valve springs cannot handle this much lift. that i would need to have them machined the accept the larger valve springs. i heard something like 1.375? They currently measures out at 1.250. any web site with info on this or anyone know about this. I tried searching but couldn't pinpoint this topic. thanks matt
Tim240z
Give Marty Morris in the parts dept. @ Scoggin Dickey Chevrolet a call. He'll help you out. When I ordered my heads from him (Vortec), I got the one's with the upgraded springs pre-installed. http://www.sdpc2000.com/ Tim
