Guest thtdmbd8
I am getting ready to undercoat my car and was wondering if anyone had used 3M Underseal. If so, can it be sprayed over POR15 of is it better on the metal itself? I am stripping the car completely and I want it to be quiet and solid, so any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Guest thtdmbd8
Do you think it would work good if I used the POR15 Tie-Coat Primer?
Wagz
I've done exactly what you're decribing. I used POR-15, let it cure for about a week, scuffed it with fine wet/dry sandpaper and applied 3 coats of 3M Rubberized Undercoating. The car is still on the rotisserie so it hasn't been road tested. However, it seems to have adhered well to the POR-15 and I am very pleased with the results. I don't think that the Tie Coat product is necessary for undercoating if you make sure you scuff the POR and give the undercoat a good surface to adhere to. Guest rick458
Can you spray the prep and POR-15 through a HVLP gun

Wagz
Here is a couple of shots of the finished product. I don't have any of the process.
love-my-V8-280Z
You know what I like even better, its the truck bed lining. I did the wheel wells and the underbody, going over the black tary undercoating. There was no undercoat in the wheel wells, The bed liner is tuff as concreat. U can try to dig your nails into it as hard as u want, no thick tar under the nails!
Guest bluex_v1
just a head's up: textured bedliner on the underside may be a pain to keep clean...all those fingers holding onto road grime. You can order it (Durabak for example) without the tire particulate if you're concerned about that posibility. I do love the stuff though and have it on the complete interior of two of my vehicles.
