Heavy Z
My holley is stripped where the air cleaner screws into it, and I already tried going up to a 7mm with no luck. Is it safe to tap it out to a 5/16, or are there any other ideas out there on how to fix this? Thanks!
Guest cbrunberg
Hey Heavy, If you use a wing nut to mount your cleaner or a rod couple you can JB Weld a stud in there. Or you can JB Weld then redrill and tap. Carl

Just make sure that it is the CORRECT length before doing so, Brett, or you'll be peeved once it is set. Davy
JoeinCA
JB weld is my best friend... It is 1000x cooler than my previous friend Duct Tape... Just make sure that you dont allow any of that JB weld to get somewhere you dont want it. (I dont think you would really want JB weld in your intake manifold... ) good luck, Joe
dmanzo57
There should be room to drill/tap for a 5/16" stud. My Holley HP4150 uses a 5/16" stud... Don
Heavy Z
5/16 it is, much sturdier than being stripped. Thanks everyone for the help. Brett

Heavy Z
It could be exhaust, I had a car that made a similar sound when the exhaust blew out.
