JoeinCA
I was wondering if there was an easy method to make a good vacuum canister. I know the basics, but it is the details that cause problems! I could just buy one for $45.... but i havent found a local parts store that stocks them. My vacuum assist brakes arent working very well off of the intake manifold. I meant to solve this problem today... but instead i started working on my speaker boxes for my Z. I have a mig welder, though i am no welding expert yet, i could probably use it to make , or modify something, to use as a vacuum canister. Thanks for any help, Joe
Guest Thurem
Any container that holds pressure would propaply be suitable. A propane canister, like the one you can buy at ACE for less than 5 bucks, comes to mind, just don't start welding on it, for obvious reasons. You also wanna get a one way valve, to keep the vacuum in the canister, and not going back into the intake manifold. Thure

Guest benjlv
a brake booster is kind of like a vacuum canister already. It has a check valve and will take a few applications of the brakes to lose the vacuum inside. Me thinks you may have a bad check valve...booster...or are just not making enough vacuum and in that case you would need a vacuum pump
JoeinCA
I'll check to see how much vacuum pressure i have tomorrow. I need to replace all of my brake hoses tomorrow too... I hope that i am making enough vacuum to support my brakes... Joe
