Hooker Huggers or Patriot Tigh-Tuck on a '70 240Z JTR LT1?

So, after reading and reading I see that the two "easy" choices for headers are the Hooker 2100 or the Patriot H8019 to "sort of" match the D-Port heads from an LT1. Which out of the two would people say are the best, or are they both the same, and why? Which one is more likely to seal better?

:D If Tim240z was going to start selling headers, how much would he charge? :D

Finally, are the Hooker 2100 and 2001 the same header (Just the 2001 is ceramic coated)?

Thanks guys.

I did post an offer to have my full length headers copied when I took them in for coating at Rewarder Headers, but it was going to be quite pricey....about $700 for the initial setup fee, then about $350 per set. So to make up for the initial cost, the headers would have to sell for about $400 per set. That's quite a bit of $$$ for us cheap ass Z guys.

Well, that's OK with me....at least my exhaust system will be completely unique! It took a lot of work to build those damn headers....they better never rust or get broken!!

What you could always do, is get a set of uncoated headers, and buy a 'D' port pair of flanges, cut off the round flanges from the header, weld on the 'D' flanges and have them coated. A little more work, and a little more expense, but it will be 'done right'!

Cant recall if you heads are D-port. I know the Hooker is a general fit for D-port. Hooker recommends the header for Corvette D-port "only" so I suppose it will not fit fast burn head, Edelbrock D-port, etc?

The Patriot is a "general fit" at the ports also. Sanderson CC1HO is beautiful match for D-port, the collector is 3". I do not know if the Sandersons will clear the steering shaft. If anybody knows, please post.

I bought a pair of the patriot tight tucks for a ford 302 and I can tell you I wasnt too impressed with their quality. They had some pretty harsh angular bends coming off the flange...not the most free flowing looking headers, and the collectors could have been tucked in a lot more. You might want to see some in person or a good photo of the model you will be getting to see if they look smooth enough to you.
