I have a dilemma. Just lately my 240z just stopped turning over when I turn the key. I thought it could be the battery so i got that check out and it had a full charge no dry cells or anything and when I turn the key I hear the battery make the click click sound. The car hesistantly turned over twice but never started. My next guess is starter. The car drives fine I can pop the clutch really easy and it just starts right up. So does that mean starter? I made sure the all ignition wires and everything where connected and still nothing. It really pisses me off cuz I love to drive my z to school every morning.

sounds more like the battery, check your connection at the battery and also where the wires attach to the starter and the ground wire attaches to the trans behind the starter, if the connections are good and solid then prolly the starter, normally when a strater goes you only get the click noise and it doesn't engage, although sometimes on chevy and ford engines they can get heat soaked and be very sluggish, but on the L6 they are far from exhaust so it's kinda wierd

yes, sound battery to me. (although possibly starter). Keep in mind that volts doesnt mean amps. The battery may be putting out its 12-13 volts but if it is not putting out enough cranking amps then the starter wont go anywhere.

the battery terminals are very secure and the ampmeter is registering at full so Im going to take out the starter and check the solenoid but thank your for your input both of you.
