Guest rick458
I was checking for Vacuum leaks and after 15 minutes I noticed the front pipe was glowing from the manifold to the curve where the two pipes join together, this was inside a lighted garage, is this normal for an L-26? or is it running too lean?. the timing seems right, she starts easily I do have a faint pop or quiet knock in the exhaust system near #6 cylinder every 3-4 seconds (time for Decarbonizing?). Guest Nic-Rebel450CA
sounds like the front carb may be running much too lean.
Guest Zachb55
yeah, i would suspect what nic said, try using one of those color-tune deals and i bet your problem would be fixed right up. your manifolds havent been port/polished have they? -Zach
Guest rick458
I fattened everything up, the guys at zcar seem to think I have an exhaust valve out of adjustment I will look into that as well

I would think that there would be a significant sound accompanying that. Not sure though as I have never had that problem Edit: Oh yeah, you said you do hear a faint pop or knock, that could be it

240hoke
you can reuse feltpro ones. They are like 12 bucks from advance. They are rubber and metal. Ive had mine off about 12 times and it doesnt leak at all. i couldnt keep my cork one from leaking the orginal time i put it on! -Austin
David K
You could also be running too rich. If you ran rich, the unburned fuel would ignite in the exhaust manifold. This was happening with my 79.
ToplessZ
I had the same problem as david I was dumping mass fuel from leaky injector and I had my manifold glowing clear down to the cat. I would try the color test zach mentioned.
