Guest Anonymous
What type and model sander should I buy to sand off rust and some paint in preparation for a new layer of paint. I think a disc sander would be the one to go with but if im wrong your thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
SHO-Z
I would get an Electric DA sander, I used on almost exclusively when I did my Convertible Z project. Buy one from one of the reputable manufacture. I used a Black and Decker. But do not expect for it to do all of the work. You will still need to do the hand sanding and wet sanding. Guest Anonymous
Mucho gracias SHO-Z. Are we talking about a disc sander here? Nate
Guest Nic-Rebel450CA
I have a really nice little square bottom palm sander that I like to use. It has a nifty rubber pad on it so I can put some pressure against it to fit contours easily. Works really good along trim lines and ridges in the metal where a disc sander cant touch. I think it is a Black and Decker as well, only set me back about $35 and it has a nice little collection can for the dust. I think it is still a regular model at Sears. A disc sander will probably be faster at going through the paint, however. (A wire brush in a drill is what I normally use)
