ok well im puttin my wilwood brakes on with the wilwood caliper..

now i have the JSK mounts on the caliper and im putting the mount on the stock mounting holes...

i torque them down to 70lbs like it says in the haynes manual and when i try to spin the rotor it wount budge...

now i know the pads should touch the rotor abit (right?)

so what am i doing wrong?

man this has been a bad day...

oh and get this.... my friend who has been doing my struts with me is in jail!!!!!!! he got arrested when he was like 16, and he's 22 now and he hasnt meet with his porole officer in like 2 mounts so they picked him up at work and he will be there without bail for like whenever..

so please pray for him, and me cuz now i have no tools or a tech guy who can do my rear struts.

I'm sure this is a good matched set of parts, but I'd start by loosing the bolts holding the caliper in position while attempting to turn the rotor. At some point the rotor should loosen up, at which point you should be able to figure out where the (and I'm making an assumption here) caliper itself (not the pads) is rubbing the rotor. Another assumption I'm making here is that the caliper slipped over the rotor fairly easily before you started bolting the caliper down. More information, even the small details will help when you need assistance. Whenever you assemble parts such as these, move them around while you tighten everything up. This will tell you a lot if things are fitting correctly, and can prevent permanently damaging parts.

it slipped over the rotor pretty easy... just the pads were touching the rotor a tad bit...

what would the "lowest" torque rating i could go on the stock brake caliper mount to the new mounts?

50lbs?

well i did the otehr side and its perfect... the passenger side just doesnt seem right..

the pads rub way bad, and the rotor doesnt even spin freely at all..

you have to use all you have to spin it..

and get this.. i torqued the drivers side which is perfect to a high torque rating for rthe JSK mounts to the strut mounts...

if i take the pads off it spins pretty good, not as good as the drivers side but still WAY better..

any ideas guys?

also i know its not the pads, cuz i can use all 4 pads on the passneger side and its still bad.. but its perfect on the drivers side.

also its hard to put the inner pad on but the outer pad wont come out at all! you have to loosen all the bolts to get it loose enough to take the pad out..

IF the caliper slips onto the rotor fairly easily prior to actually sticking the mounting bolts through, then you can pretty much rule out a "wrong" caliper (or too narrow). All your pads should be the same thickness (good side to bad side comparison). If the outer pad will not come out, but the inner one will (again, while the caliper is tightly attached to the strut), then there needs to be some measurements taken to confirm rotor offset is identical on both sides of the car. This indicates to me that the caliper is too far inboard when bolted on, or the caliper offset is too little (rotor is too far outboard).

no the hub sat right.. the nose we wee hearing was the steering rack moving.

We got the rotor to move pretty good now.. we just had to tighten a few bolts and now the pads dont stick as bad.. it kinda does but not bad at all like it did.. we lowered the car and MY GOD the car is low and looks soooooooooooooooooooo mean. so Midnight Wangan :D..

i dont i even need ZG flares, it sits perfect, but ill get them anyways cuz the rear wheels will sit out abit.

ill take some pics and show ya guys.

thanks for all your help guys.
