Guest thinkmonkey
Hey Guys, I just got my energy suspension kit from suspension.com that included the outer tie rod ends and ball joints. All four joints came without a zerk fitting attached, or a even a place to mount some to grease up the joints! This concerns me, has anyone had any problems with it? -David
auxilary
this is normal, some manufacturers sell sealed tierods/balljoints that are already filled with grease and don't require regreasing.
Guest thinkmonkey
I assumed that, but does the inability to regrease it affect the life of the joints? -David
Guest johnny1913
Yep, the joints won't last as long. Just learned about this in class the other day. I'm an Automotive Engineering Technology student and in AET 160 the prof said that they don't have the fittings to save money. He also said ball joints and such with zerk fittings should last pretty much the life of the car, but without them, they only last 35,000 or so miles. Guest thinkmonkey
I wouldn't have purchased the ball joints if I'd known they didn't come with zerk fittings. I don't know about them only lasting 35,000 miles (probably working 'well'), but I would like the ability to lube my entire suspension. I'll give energy suspension a call. Thanks. -David
